Esponellà Campsite opened its doors in 1971, after many tourists were enthralled by the natural areas in Pla de l’Estany. Designed as a family campsite in a natural setting by the Fluvià River, it plays an important role in local family tourism.

In the beginning, it only offered pitches for tents. The first tourists came for the great fishing in the Fluvià River and for the natural surroundings. This hasn’t changed much over the years, and this campsite continues to provide the best of what the Fluvià River has to offer, a wonderful forest and the best nature trails in Pla de l’Estany.
